Opening Files
In addition to HTML pages, Microsoft
Internet Explorer can open the following file types:
- Text documents
- GIF and JPEG images
You can open other file types by configuring file types.
To open a file, do one of the following
- To open a file on your computer,
click the File menu, click Open, and then click Open File.
Select the file you want to open, and then click OK.
- To open a file on the Internet, click the File menu, click Open, type the address, and then click OK. Or type the address
directly in the Address box in the Internet Explorer
window.
- To open a file from your Favorites
list, click the Favorites menu, and then click Open Favorites.
- To open a recently visited page, click
the down arrow at the right of the Address box, or click the Go menu and then click Open History Folder.
- To open one of the seven pages most recently
visited (in this session), click the Go menu, and
then click the file or URL name listed at the bottom
above Open History Folder.
